Is the Universe Reading my Mind?

πŸ¦‹ πŸ’œ 🌿 How are you?

Lately, I have been thinking about taking a social media break

I feel like I am thinking this every single day.

Let's be real: Doom scrolling is affecting my mental health.

My husband and I were talking about how it's stressing me out which is stressing him out. And so that's really putting it into perspective.

But the problem is that I ALSO want to use my voice.

I ALSO have a business and writing to share.

And it really HELPS my mental health to connect with my pals.

Oy, the pros and cons.

So how do I solve this? I have been wondering and....

An answer came in my inbox today!

One of my fav alternatives to social media is sending out an email like I am right now

I ADORE Email.

I love emailing you.

If you don't have your own email newsletter, I recommend it.

((In fact I made a hub of free resources to help make emailing fun, right here))

But Listen, much as I love email: everything has pros and cons.

The problem with email is HOW to reach new people consistently.

But then an answer came!

I got this email today. I thought it may interest you as well:

There is a free event called List Building Live (a tiny audio-only summit) starting today, March 11-13.

It's NOT LONG WINDED webinars.

The speakers are doing mini-chats.

We’re talking 5-10 minutes each.

I LOVE THAT.

Everything is about HOW to build your email list so you reach more people with your book or business.

I thought the timing couldn't be more perfect.

I'm going to listen to some of the speakers.

Liz Wilcox is hosting it and she attracts a lot of cool people.

πŸ¦‹ πŸ’œ 🌿 Will I be seeing you on Wednesday? Wednesday is the day for the free co-working and co-writing space. Plus, I'll be sharing about something new and fun: an exercise to feel more motived to work on your writing or work project! How great would it feel to be more motivated to make progress, from a positive place where it is easy to get things done and doesn't feel like pulling teeth? Wednesday, April 16! 3-6 PM Eastern, 12-3 PM Pacific Register for our cowork session on zoom here Come and...

πŸ¦‹ πŸ’œ 🌿 How are you doing today? If you are new here -- welcome to my FunLetters, where you get a little update from me and some things to inspire you and delight. <3 Feel free to reply to my emails anytime and let me know how you are or what you are working on. Me, I have been exercising discipline to be NOT obsessing over the news for 36 hours, which is good for me LOL. It's great to be informed but there's such a thing as too much, especially when I notice I'm getting burned out on it....

πŸ¦‹ πŸ’œ 🌿 How are you doing today? I am pretty good, starting to get my energy back after my cold. Update: We have raised about half of our goal to raise money for Aminata's college fees in Sierra Leone! Woohoo! I am preparing to send it to her. This week, I watched all of the Harry and Meghan interviews on Netflix. And sidenote: oh my golly, it is an unfortunate story, but also very inspiring. Shame that things didn't work out and they couldn't remain as part of the royal family but leaving...
