🦋 💜 🌿 How is your week going? I hope you have been well -- two months ago I had a baby! He is healthy and currently being held as he sleeps by his dad. I wanted to shoot you a quick email while I can. It's been crazy around here with a newborn, as you may imagine. Immediately after the birth, I not only had to start learning how to take care of my little baby, but I also had to heal from rather severe wounds from birthing him. I didn't get out of bed unless absolutely necessary for 5 weeks. Luckily, I had a lot of help to allow my healing to happen, but man, it still was really tough. Getting help when you have a newborn baby and breastfeeding doesn't necessarily mean feeling rested at any point. And there is always more to do. The thing that saved me was my organizational skills--and since I was totally exhausted, I needed to take it to the next level. I had to devise the simplest possible way to keep track of things. Because feeling like a bus hit me doesn't mean I'm not still the person in my house who does most of the admin work, ordering things, making grocery lists, etc. I wanted to share what worked for me, not only to keep track of what documents need to be filed with insurance, what groceries need to be bought, but also how to keep track of some of the memories and feelings so I can keep hold of memories. This has basically replaced my journal and the other writing I have done for the time being. Being a writer, I miss the luxury of being able to journal in my notebook. That just has not felt right since I had the baby. In fact, writing this email feels like a huge luxury and I may be interrupted at any point...I had to find an easier, quicker way to do things while basically only having one brain cell left awake. It's all about getting the job done. Also here are a couple other things I am loving -The site CHIRP for its audiobooks, I have gotten a lot of great ones for $3 and they help while the time away holding babies or breastfeeding. -For those midnight feedings where my brain can't really comprehend an audiobook, I like to listen to music. I've listened to the album, "Wild and Clear and Blue" by I'm With Her a million times. It recently won a Grammy and it sure deserves it. If you only have time for one song, my favorite is Standing on the Faultline I have been asked if I am taking clients or working. The answer is yes- as long as we don't have to meet for a live zoom call. What does that mean? It means there are two ways we can work together. I can: A. edit your documents and leave notes in google docs or I help with nonfiction books, blogs, sales pages, emails, and more. New Video Well, until the next email, take care and have fun! Thanks for reading |

🦋 💜 🌿 How have you been? I am back for my monthly-ish update on postpartum life as a writer, entrepreneur and new mom. Things are going pretty well. I have survived my son's first cold, and all the exhaustion that entailed. Luckily neither the baby nor us, his parents, got any extreme symptoms, but we certainly had little rest for a week. I've had some great news that my client, friend and mentor Andrea Hylen has completed and published her book Follow the Clues! I'll share about that below....
🦋 💜 🌿 How have you been? I am popping into what has turned into a monthly-ish update on postpartum life as a writer, entrepreneur and now mom. It's been extra busy as now both my husband and I have begun working. Our baby is now almost 5 months old. I watch the baby more since I work at home, and breastfeed. We've been ironing out some help the past few moths to open up more time for me to work and do necessary things. There's always something to do! Since my life has changed drastically...
🦋 💜 🌿 How is your week going? This month my husband returned to work after paternity leave so we've been making a lot of adjustments. Some days are harder than others. Being a mom, I'm holding a lot of balls in the air, and while I certainly have my brains at work daily, I just don't feel like I have a lot of writing ideas top of mind day to day the way I used to. It's strange because for the past 25-ish years that I've been publishing my writing online, I've rarely been low on ideas. In fact...
